Robert L. Miller

CYRIL -- Services for Robert L. Miller, 81, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Cyril. Interment will be at Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Binyon Cyril Funeral Home.

Miller died June 3, 1997, in Chickasha. He was born April 8, 1916, in Washita, to Robert L. and Lillie M. Painter Miller.

An Army veteran of World War II, he married Gladys McGuire Feb. 17, 1946, and had lived in Cyril most of his life. He was employed by Apco Refinery 35 years before he retired in 1983.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a daughter, Glada Palesano, Ardmore; a son, Charley, Cyril; and four grandchildren.

Gladys Vivian Miller

CYRIL -- Services for Gladys Vivian Miller, 84, will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 28, 2008, in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Roy Fountain officiating and the Rev. Travis Wollenberg assisting. Interment will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery.

Born Feb. 3, 1924, at Cyril to Ira Audes McGuire and Jessie Enola Miller, Gladys died Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Ardmore.

She married Robert L. Miller on Feb. 17, 1946, at Cyril. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Gladys lived most of her life in Cyril and graduated from Cyril High School. She worked as a receptionist and shipping clerk for APCO Refinery for almost 40 years. She worked as secretary for the First Baptist Church for 17 years and part-time for Cyril Funeral Home for several years. She retired at the age of 77. In 2004, Gladys moved to Ardmore to live with her daughter.

Gladys was a member of the First Baptist Church, a WMU president, and taught Sunday School for 50 years. Her joy in life was serving God and spending time with family. She also loved to cook.

Survivors include a daughter, Glada Prater and her husband, Jerry, Ardmore; a son, Charles Miller and his wife, Desiree, Cyril; a grandson, Ben Palesano and his wife, Rachel, Ardmore; a granddaughter, Sara Cope and her husband, Luke, Ardmore; grandchildren, Jeremy Shaull, Cyril, Kayde Miller, Fort Cobb, Kimberly Miller, Cyril; four great-grandsons, Hunter, Josh, and Ian Palesano, and Zane Cope, all of Ardmore; and a sister, Naomi Brown, Cyril.
