Doris Lee [Janousek] Howton

Funeral service for Doris Lee [Janousek] Howton will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in the Western Hills Christian Church with Tommy Smith, Pastor of Shawnee Christian Church, Shawnee, Oklahoma officiating. Burial will be in Celestial Gardens, Cyril, Oklahoma under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends Tuesday evening, June 5, 2018 from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.

Doris Lee [Janousek] Howton, 83, San Antonio, Texas died peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018 in San Antonio.

She was born November 8, 1934 in Cyril, Oklahoma to John and Frankie Janousek.

She married Earl Andrew Howton of the United States Army on December 29, 1950 after knowing each other only two weeks. They were married for 67 years until her death. During her 67 years of marriage she lived in Michigan, Germany, Lawton and San Antonio. Doris stood beside her husband through 27 years of military service and joined the NCO Wives Club at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She also worked as bookkeeper for Orkin Pest Control, was a sales clerk at Fort Sill Post Exchange, sales clerk at Sugar-N-Spice children's clothing store and worked in food service at the Wilson Elementary School.

Doris was an active and dedicated member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Amaranth. She also attended church services for several years at Western Hills Christian Church in Lawton, Oklahoma and Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas.

Doris is survived by her husband Earl Andrew Howton of the home, 3 daughters, Mary Earline Mick of San Antonio, Texas, Deborah Lynne Williams of Lawton, Oklahoma, Marsha Louise Shaw of San Antonio, Texas, her sister, Margaret Hensley of Bethany, Oklahoma, 8 grandchildren, Charline Lee Chen, Andrew Douglas Jones, Cassandra Lynn Evans, John Martin Andrew Chmiel, Jerimie Remick Jones, Jennifer Lynne Santiago, Rebecca Ann Hunt, Randy Williams, 13 great grandchildren, Michael Kelley, Lauren Kelley, Brittany Evans, Jessica Chmiel, Brandon Evans, Isaac Hunt, Andrew Jones, Emma Hunt, Maddalynne Chmiel, Jacob Santiago, Gabriella Chmiel, Jaxon Santiago, Emiliah Chmiel and 3 great grandchildren, Kaylee Kelley, Evan Kelley and Ethan Kelley.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Frankie Janousek of Cyril, Oklahoma and her sister Geraldine Garrett of Chickasha, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doris Howton's name to the Heart Foundation, the Kidney Foundation or to the Diabetes Research Foundation.
