Ruth Janell [Clift] Howard

Ruth Janell Howard, Cyril, was born October 24, 1939 in Cyril to Bud and Beatrice [Clark] Clift. She passed away on August 3, 2018 at the age of 78.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Family Life Church, Cyril, officiated by Donnie Miller. Burial will follow at Cyril Cemetery under direction of Crews Funeral Home.

Janell grew up in Cyril. She married Larry Dean Howard in Cyril in 1962; he preceded her in death in 1984. Janell was always telling stories about Larry and keeping his memory alive.

She played on a women's softball league, where she was the "salty short-stop". Shen enjoyed watching sports, especially boxing, basketball, and football. She enjoyed cooking and making homemade ice cream. Janell loved working outside and was often seen tending to her crepe myrtles. Janell enjoyed music and loved Dolly Parton.

She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Howard; sister, Betty Short and Tootsie Franklin.

Survivors include his children, Todd Howard and wife Lisa, and Misty Julian and husband Ronnie; grandchildren, Keisha Gorman, Colton Howard, Cameron Howard, and Chloe Howard; great-grandchildren, Colby Burns, Lucy Gorman, Mia Gorman, and Kensley Howard; brother, Sonny Clift; and sister, Waldine Love.
