Frank James "Dubie" Hillbolt

Frank James Hillbolt Of Cyril, Oklahoma was born April 4, 1934 in Sierra Blanca, TX to Frank Walter and Betty Irene [Johns] Hillbolt. He passed away January 4, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK at the age of 83.

Frank married Dora Bell Cooper Piearcy on June 19, 1956 in Lovington, NM.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Hillbolt and two sons-William E. "Butch" Hillbolt and Warren "Sonny" Hillbolt, a grandson, Christopher Hillbolt and a granddaughter, Kelly Dawn Lewis.

Frank is survived by brother, Grover Hillbolt and wife, Charlotte of Round Top, TX; daughters Linda Crimmins-Button, Bertha Lee Boswell, Mary Jo Sellers and son Grover Dale Hillbolt and Kerry Lynn Hillbolt, Sherry Lynn Hillbolt, Warren Dean Hillbolt, James Patrick Lewis and Jeremy Hillbolt. He is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He attended high school in Imperial, TX where he played 6-man football. His senior year, he attended Silver City High School in New Mexico where he was known as "Dubie" and lettered in 11-man football.

He was raised on the open-range of the Texas-Mexico border where his father worked as a Texas Ranger and former US Customs Inspector. Frank was a cowboy, gentleman, and fine example to his family. He was competitive as a calf roper and team roper, and he loved rodeo and the western way of life. He worked as a trick driver until he retired from Snyder Construction in 2002. He was a long-haul truck driver awarded for driving over a million miles without an accident. He transported uranium in Colorado and New Mexico and also managed the Barite Plant in Cyril, OK.

Services will be held Sunday, January 7th at 2:30 P.M. at the Assembly of God Church in Cyril officiated by Pastor Randy Cocheran and Pastor Donnie Miller. Burial will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.
