Marjorie Lou Gaines

Funeral services for Marjorie "Margie" Gaines, 78, of Midwest City, formerly of Chickasha will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Friday, March 30, 2007, in the First Christian Church of Cyril.

Margie [Detter] Gaines was born August 16, 1928, in El Dorado, Kansas the daughter of Paul and Ella (Morgan) Detter. She went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2007, in Midwest City.

Margie's family lived in the Phillips oil field camp housing all of her growing up years. She graduated from Eureka High School.

She married her high school sweetheart, Robert "Bob" Gaines.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She always had a sunny disposition and was admired so much for her wonderful attitude, even through her illness. She always had a smile on her face, was happy and positive, and was a delight to talk to.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; both parents; great granddaughter, Rachel Ward; great-grandson, Ben Robert Thomas; and son- in-law, Vester Ben Baker.

She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law: Marilyn Baker, of Midwest City and Karen and Byron Carr, of Ulysses, Kansas; four grandchildren: Cynthia Branstetter and husband Eric, Robbie Thomas and wife, Amanda; Trey Baker, and Casey Carr and wife Jenni; two great grandchildren: Dalton Branstetter and Josie May Thomas; Four sisters and brothers-in-law: Marilyn and Warren Smith, Dorothy Heavin, Pauline and Donnie Cobb, and Colleen and Chuck Whitfield.

The family requests memorial donations be made to The American Lung Association at 3160 W. Britton Rd., Suite E Oklahoma City, OK 73120.

Interment will be in the Celestial Garden Cemetery in Cyril Oklahoma under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
