Sherman Allen Edwards
November 6, 1916 ~ August 8, 2005


Funeral service for Sherman Allen Edwards, age 88 of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2005, in the First Christian Church of Cyril. Rev. Joe Howard, Don Ray Williams, and Rev. Rodney Campbell will officiate.

Sherman Allen Edwards was born the son of Stephen Washington Edwards and Sadie Elizabeth Treadway Edwards on November 6, 1916, in Cyril, Oklahoma. He died on August 8, 2005, in Anadarko, Oklahoma.

Interment will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay's Cyril Funeral Home..

Virginia Margaret Edwards
August 28, 1920 ~ June 26, 2015


Virginia Margaret Cribbs Edwards of Cyril, Oklahoma was born August 28, 1920 in Cyril to George Clinton and Carrie Duff [Thomas] Cribbs. She passed away June 26th in Chickasha at the age of 94.

Virginia attended school until the age of 15, when her mother passed away and she had to help raise the family.

She married Sherman Allen Edwards on January 1, 1939 in Chickasha, he preceded her in death August 8, 2005.

She was a faithful member of the First Christian Church of Cyril. Virginia worked for Windy's Grocery and the APCO Refinery in the office before becoming an assistant cashier at the Cyril State Bank.

She was very active in the Cyril community, belonging to several organizations, including Eastern Star, American Legion Auxiliary, Cyril Garden Club, Red Hat Society and was Class Mom for Cyril Graduates of '55 and '58. She served as President of the Cyril Historical Society until 2011 and was named Pioneer Woman of the Year in Cyril. Virginia enjoyed gardening and floral arranging.

She is survived by: 1 daughter and her husband - Sue and Jimmy Jones Fletcher, OK 4 grandchildren and their spouses - Kathy and Mike Wilk, Kari and Jason Sewell, Davey and Sheila Jones, Danny and Lisa Jones 10 great-grandchildren- Katy, Marty, Jenny, Jamie, Beth, Bryan, Kayla, Sadie, Kasey, Anna 10 great-great grandchildren- Avery, Emma, Montana, Wyatt, Reid, Maddox, Jase, Allen, Whitlee and "Soon to be" Ellie, 1 brothe r- Haskell Cribbs Cyril, OK 3 sisters - JoAnn Edwards Cyril, OK Patricia and husband, Doug Sikes Chickasha, OK Janice and husband, Doug Wells Lawton, OK 1 step-sister - Joyce Nichols Hobbs, NM

She was preceded in death by: Her husband, Sherman Edwards, 2 brothers- Edwin Cribbs, Windy Cribbs 2 sisters - Darlene Patterson, Imogene Ackley.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 29th at 10:00 A.M. at the First Christian Church with Pastor Delbert McCurley officiating, assisted by Pastor Kip Ackley and Davey Jones.

Burial will follow in Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are: Marly Maahs Bryan Vaughan, Brian Jacobi Landon Bruce, Derrick Baird Shane Haff, Jeremy Heath

Honorary Pallbearers are: The Masonic Lodge members
