David Gaylon Dunbar

David Gaylon Dunbar of Duluth, Georgia was born December 29, 1955 in Lawton, OK to Gaylon Bill and Elon Frances (Marler) Dunbar. He passed away at home in Duluth, GA on July 5, 2012 at the age of 56.

After David graduated from high school, he entered the Air Force and was quickly promoted to being the youngest recruiter in the Air Force at that time. A "born salesman" he was successful in his duty to recruit people into the service. After his service, he went to school and became certified as a heating and air conditioning technician. He eventually owned and operated his own business.

David was a member of the American Legion and he was a Dance Instructor for the Arthur Murray Dance Studios where he earned the nickname "Dancin' Dave". He was also a dedicated member of the Norcross Masonic Lodge #228 in Duluth.

He is survived by: 1 daughter- Melissa Marie "Missy" Dunbar Arkansas, 1 granddaughter - Jada Dunbar, His mother and step-father- Bennie and Frances Nix Cyril, OK, 1 sister - Kathryn Dunbar-Dotson and husband, Tony Dotson Jacksonville, TX.

He was preceded in death by: His father, Gaylon Dunbar, 1 half-brother- Lanny Ray Nix.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 10th at 10:00 A.M. at the Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril, OK. The service will be conducted by the Masons. Burial will follow under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.
