Antonia "Toni" Galindo Bruner

Antonia "Toni" Bruner of Cyril, Oklahoma was born February 24, 1923 in a farmhouse north of Cyril, OK to Al and Cathryn Galindo. She passed away from her earthly home August 6th in Lawton, OK at the age of 88.

Toni attended school in Cyril, OK. During World War II, she worked at Ft. Sill. She, her sister and other ladies working at Ft. Sill lived in barracks on post. While working there, she met and married Melvin Cathey and had a son, Melvin Lynn (Bruner) Cathey. After she and her son moved to Richmond, CA. She married Edwin Bruner. To this union, a daughter was born, Donna D. (Meservy) Bruner. In 1955, Toni and her children returned to Cyril. She was a member of the Catholic Church in Cyril until it closed.

She loved gardening and working in her yard, taking great pride in her tomatoes. Her many pretty flowers brought her great joy. In 2005 she moved to Lawton to be closer to her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Toni enjoyed watching any sporting events her family participated in. She entered Cedar Crest Manor Nursing home in 2007 and met many new friends and enjoyed new activities. She met Natalie Alexander, an employee who was a very helpful companion and became a special friend.

She is survived by: 1 daughter and her husband, Donna D. Meservy and Mert Todd Lawton, OK, 2 Grandchildren - Ranny and wife, Angie Meservy Lawton, OK,Rachelle "Schatzi" Meservy Dallas, TX, 2 Great-grandchildren - Jack Meservy, Hagen Meservy Lawton, OK, 1 brother and his wife - Bob "Sam" and Lois Galindo Fontana, CA, 1 siste r- Tina Beall Findley, OH, Her special friend - Natalie Alexander Lawton, OK.

She was preceded in death by - Her parents, 1 son - Melvin Lynn [Bruner] Cathey, 1 brother - Frank Galindo, 1 nephew-Delbert [Galindo] Swanney.

A Graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 10th, at 2:00 P.M. at Celestial Gardens Cemetery in Cyril with Pastor Kip Ackley officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Cyril Funeral Home.

William Addison Buckner

Funeral services for William Addison Buckner, 73, of Cyril, Okla., will be held on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003, at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Cyril, with Rev. Kip Ackley officiating.

William Addison Buckner was born on Nov 23, 1929. He died on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003.

Interment will be in the Celestial Gardens Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay's Cyril Funeral Home.
