Lorrie Jean [Prince] Black

Funeral service for Lorrie Jean Black, 44, of Newalla, Oklahoma will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Life Journey Church of Cement.

Burial will follow at the Celestial Gardens in Cyril under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home.

Mrs. Black passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Integris Southwestern Medical Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Lorrie Jean (Prince) Black was born January 18th, 1970, in Lawton, Oklahoma, to Eugene and Jeannette Prince. She graduated from MacArthur High School in 1987. She graduated with honors carrying a 4.0 g.p.a., was a varsity cheerleader, and was a starter on the varsity basketball team. She moved to the Oklahoma City area after high school where she worked at Cox Communications as a customer service rep. She made up her mind to help elderly people so she went back to school and earned her license so she could work in nursing. She immediately went to work at the Wolff Nursing Home in Harrah. She worked in nursing until her illness would not allow her to work any longer.

She is survived by her mother, Jeannette Smith, Cyril, her father, Eugene Prince, Elgin, her sister, Sherry McElfresh, Newalla, her grandfather, Tony Prince, Lawton, 3 aunts, Debra Yarnell, Sandy Prince and Gail McNeil, 2 uncles, Ricky Prince and his wife, Brenda, and Wendel Prince; 2 nephews, Chad McElfresh and Dalton Baker; numerous cousins and 7 dogs, and 4 horses.

She was preceded in death by her great grandparents, Jack and Irene Hollarn; grandparents, Adalene and Bill Delk and grandmother, Martha Prince; and many other beloved family members.

Memorial contributions may be made to A.S.P.C.A.

Viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday, at the Fletcher Funeral Home.
