Bob L. Benson

Funeral service for Bob Benson, 87, of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018, at the Cyril Assembly of God Church with Randy Cocheran and Mike and Chad Benson, officiating. Burial will follow at Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Benson passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21, 2018, at his home in Cyril surrounded by his wife and 2 sons.

Bob L. Benson was born April 20, 1930 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Bill and Rosalee [Hardin] Benson. He grew up in Oklahoma City where he attended Capitol Hill High School.

Bob married Martha Cosper on June 7, 1947 and the two have been happily married for 70 years.

Bob was a bi-vocational minister where he pastored and worked as a self-employed dry waller in construction. He and Martha pastored and built or remodeled several Assembly of God Churches throughout Oklahoma. Bob was a member of the Cyril Assembly of God Church for 23 years.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Martha Benson, of the home; 2 sons: Dennis Benson, of the home and Mike Benson and his wife Dawn, of Arlington, TX; 1 daughter in law, Donna Benson, of Earlsboro; 1 brother, Larry Benson and his wife Diana, of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren: Allen Gaither, LaRonna Anderson, Jonathan Gaither and his wife Nicole, Jeromy Benson and his wife Misty, Brian Benson and his wife Stephanie, Amy Gregg and her husband Jerrod, Alan Benson, Lesley Benson, Chad Benson and his wife Amber, and Krista Sanseverino and her husband Shawn; 18 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Rosalee Benson; 1 daughter, Bobbi Gaither; 1 son, Bruce Benson; 2 brothers: Bill and Paul Benson; and 2 sisters: Nadine Wilkerson and Bonnie Sheaffer.

Martha Jo [Cosper] Benson

Funeral service for Martha Benson, 85, of Cyril, Oklahoma, will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at the Cyril Assembly of God Church with Mike and Chad Benson, officiating. Burial will follow at Celestial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Fletcher Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Martha passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at her home in Cyril surrounded by her 2 sons.

Martha Jo Benson was July 14, 1932 in Weatherford, Oklahoma to Joseph and Cecil [Riggins] Cosper. She was #12 of 13 children.

She married Bob Benson on June 7, 1947 and the two were happily married for 70 years.

Bob and Martha were in ministry for most of their married life, pastoring, remodeling, and building churches and parsonages throughout Oklahoma. Martha owned and operated Martha's Flowers & Uniques of Cyril for 18 years. She was a member of Cyril Assembly of God Church where she was involved in a women's group called "Ageless Encouragers".

She is survived by 2 sons: Dennis Benson, of the home and Mike Benson and his wife Dawn, of Arlington, TX; 1 daughter in law, Donna Benson, of Earlsboro; 1 brother in law, Larry Benson and his wife Diana, of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren: Allen Gaither, LaRonna Anderson, Jonathan Gaither and his wife Nicole, Jeromy Benson and his wife Misty, Brian Benson and his wife Stephanie, Amy Gregg and her husband Jerrod, Alan Benson, Lesley Benson, Chad Benson and his wife Amber, and Krista Sanseverino and her husband Shawn; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Joe and Cecil Cosper; her husband, Bob Benson; her daughter, Bobbi Gaither; her son, Bruce Benson; and 12 siblings.

Sandra D. "Sandy" [Johnston] Benson

Prague resident Sandra Benson, 55, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008 in Shawnee.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents James Mitchell Sloan and Louise Pauline [Weddington] Sloan, aunt Mary Helen [Sloan] Henry, grandmother Mary Sands, grandfather Edgar Sands, one brother Michael Len Johnston and her mother Hazel Dean [Sloan] Johnston. Preceded in death by her father Jackie Lee Johnston.

Living Siblings Carol Johnston & Karen [Johnston] Mills Living children Alecia Renee Andrews and Shanna Louise Hatfield.

Service will be 10 am Friday, Oct. 24, 2008 at Resthaven Funeral Home. Burial will be 2 pm Friday at Cyril City Cemetery under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
