Vernon Scott Hicks
February 10, 1920 ~ August 15, 1921

Vernon Scott Hicks, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. E.P. Hicks of near Alden, passed to his heavenly home Tuesday evening at 5:10 p.m., at the hospital in Chickasha, Okla.

Little Vernon Scott was but a few days short of one year old, having been born February 10, 1920, and died February 1, 1921.

Though his stay in this world was brief, yet his sunny smile and cheery life endeared himself to all who knew him.

Little Vernon's body was laid to rest in the Alden cemetery by the side of his little sister, Eula Mae, and their spirits are now looking down from their heavenly mansion and will ever be beckoning father, mother, relatives and friends to live such a Christian life that when they too come to the end of life's fitful journey, they may hear the sweet and welcome plaudits of Jesus our Lord, "It is enough, enter into the joys of heavenly bliss."

Funeral services were conducted by P.R. Huckleberry of Childress, Texas.

The beautiful bouquets and wreathes of flowers speak more eloquently than any words of ours of the high esteem and live in which Bro. and Sister E.P. Hicks are held by one and all.

May the richest and choicest blessings of a wise and loving heavenly Father, the sympathizing love and leadership of Jesus, and the ever abiding presence of the Holy Spirit enable us all to "Be faithful until death" and receive a "crown of life."
