Alice Robertson Dollar

Alice (Robinson) Dollar age 72 years 10 months and 24 days passed from this life on Saturday, March 2, 2013 and was reunited with her parents Mitchell and Callie (Anderson) Robinson. She was born on April 9, 1940 in Mashburn, Oklahoma. Alice married Doug Dollar on May 12, 1962 in Calera they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary last May.

She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and loyal friend. Alice was affectionately known by many as “Nanny”. She graduated from Achille School in 1957, where she lived most of her life. Alice had a beautiful voice and was a member of the Achille Trio, along with her sister Mildred, and sister-in-law Tootsie, performed at many gospel singing events and on the radio in Sherman, Texas. She worked for the Achille Water Department for many years. Alice was a wonderful homemaker and bookkeeper for Doug’s business. She loved to keep a meticulous and detailed journal about her life and family. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, working puzzles and shopping. Alice loved to laugh! She was very quick witted and a true peacemaker and problem solver. Even after she became sick you hardly ever saw her without a smile on her face.

Mrs. Dollar is survived by her husband, Doug Dollar of the home; daughters, Carolyn Prince and husband Jimmie Cochran of Hugo, Oklahoma and Michelle Williams and husband Brandon of Achille, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Shannon Gatlin, Sheldyn Williams and Braiden Williams all of Achille, Oklahoma and Christyn Tom of Hugo, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, J.J. Tom , Nicholas Tom, Madalyn Gatlin all of Hugo, Oklahoma and Alex Gatlin of Denison, Texas; brother, Merk Robison and wife CoiEtta of Hendrix, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Tootsie Robinson of Calera, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Butch Dollar and wife Juanita of Calera, Oklahoma and Larry Dollar of Achille, Oklahoma; sisters-in-law, Janice Carter of Arlington, Texas, Rhoena Bass and husband Sam of Dallas, Texas, Judy West and husband Bobby of Durant, Oklahoma, Jane Babb of Durant, Oklahoma and Melba Moore and husband Tom of Arlington, Texas.

Mrs. Dollar was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell and Callie Robinson; sister, Mildred Hutchings; and infant sisters, Fern Jenice and Meredith Inez Robinson; brothers, Jim and Dale Robinson.

Family Hour will be from 6-7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service in her honor will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Kemp Baptist Church in Kemp, Oklahoma with Bro. Roger Speers and Tom Patzer officiating. Internment will follow at the Rosewood Cemtery at Achille, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Ross Robinson, Wade Dollar, Randall Robinson, Shannon Gatlin, Charles Wooten and Randall Wooten.
