Esther McVey Sewell

Esther (McVey) Sewell, a precious child of God and resident of Colbert, Oklahoma, left this life in Colbert, Oklahoma at the Southern Point Nursing Home on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the age of 86. She was born on December 24, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Lester R. and Francis (Drag) Showalter.

Esther was a woman that dedicated her life to caring for her home and family. She had a sweet nature and loved to sit and visit with others. Esther like to play bingo and get her exercise, she enjoyed singing and reading her Bible, and was a member of the Pentecostal faith.

Mrs. Sewell is survived by her son, David McVey of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Danna Breazeale of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren; Kimberly, Robin and Michael Breazeale and PJ; granddaughter, Leah; several great-grandchildren; and also survived by the Southern Point Nursing Home staff and residents.

Mrs. Sewell was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Francis Showalter; husbands, Cecil Bryant, Paul McVey and Jim Sewell; son, James McVey; and sisters, Lorane Searcy and Elsie Young.

A chapel service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel in Durant with Bro. Jack Ball officiating. Interment will follow at the Rosehill Cemetery in Calera.
