Carolyn Waldrop Rodgers

October 24, 1942 - March 11, 2014

Carolyn Rodgers, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed into the arms of her Savior on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 18 days.

She was the precious child of Willie A. and Lille Mae Varner Waldrop born in Denison, Texas on Saturday, October 24, 1942.

She married her best friend, Corkey Rodgers in Durant, Oklahoma on April 22, 1960.

Carolyn was a member of the River of Life Fellowship Church in Durant, Oklahoma.

She gladly committed her life to caring for her family and home.

Carolyn was a social, friendly person who enjoyed meeting at the Dairy Queen for coffee with her friends. She and her husband Corkey spent many days and hours traveling or sitting quietly by a pond or lake fishing together. She cherished her family above all else considering them her greatest blessing.

Mrs. Rodgers is survived by her husband and friend in life, Corkey of the home; daughters, Janet Cook and husband Chuck of Roff, Oklahoma, Carrie Latham and husband Bud of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kris Robert and wife Brooke of Roff, Oklahoma, Jessica Crank and husband Rusty of Durant, Oklahoma, Kaylan Roberts and fiance` Joseph Hamilton of Durant, Oklahoma, Jeffery Ellis and fiance` Haley Harris of Stillwater, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Sabrina Griffin, Kolton Roberts, Cinch Roberts, Logan Crank, Ethan Crank, Hoyt Hamilton, Harley Latham, Morgan Latham and Holley Grace Hamilton on the way; sisters, Karen Burghauser and husband Dan, Debbie Damron and husband Jody, Belinda Vaughn, Marie Jones and husband Nathan all of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers and sisters in-laws, Jesse Rodgers and wife Rita of Durant, Oklahoma, Frankie Rodgers and wife Linda of Irving, Texas, James "Tiny" Rodgers and wife Linda of Boise, Idaho, Nancey Rodgers of Durant, Oklahoma; special  sisters at heart Beulah Phillips and husband Troy of Durant, Oklahoma, Linda Maples and husband David of Durant, Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rodgers was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie Mae Hodge and Willie "Bill" Waldrop.

Family hour will be from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2014 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel in Durant with Buddy Manners officiating.

Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Calera, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Kris Roberts, A. J. Foster, Eugene Henderson, Matt Rodgers, Johnny Hutson, Steve Cook and Chuck Varner.
