Services to celebrate the life of Donald Glenn Conner, 70, of Durant, who passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at his home will be held Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. David Lane will officiate.
Donald was born Sept. 15, 1938, in Marianna, Ark., to Dalton and Veachel (Vann) Conner. He married Shirley Parrish on March 13, 1958, and they moved to Bryan County in 1989 from Dallas, Texas. He worked as a construction contractor. He was of the Baptist Faith and he enjoyed working on old cars, fishing and taking care of his chickens. Donald will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Dalton and Veachel Conner; wife Shirley Conner; brother Benny Conner and sister Learline Johnson.
Donald is survived by son Jerry Parrish and wife Brenda, daughter Jackie Laughlin and companion Coy McWilliams, daughter Sandra Trautman and husband Dayle, son Donald Conner and wife Connie, all of Durant; grandchildren Misty Keeler, Jerri Holt, Stephanie Barkley, Jake Parrish, Ricky Davis, Belinda Wright, Daniel Davis, Regina Davis, Leslie Davis, Janie Smother, Jeri McGinty, Dustin Trautman, Darrian Trautman, Amanda Conner, Deeanna Conner, Donald G. Conner, Donald D. Conner, Kimberly Hines, Johnathan Williams and Neshoba Williams; 33 great-grandchildren; brothers George Connner and wife Mary Ann and Noel Conner and wife Elsie; sisters Dana Boehm and Peggy Shank; and other relatives and a host of friends.
Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery with Daniel Davis, Ricky Davis, Trevor Keeler, Joey Mullens, Jerry Parrish, J.J. Corzine, Curtis Conner and Michael Parks serving as pallbearers.
