Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong for Lorene Murray Melton, 68, of Durant, who passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. Bro. Anthony Williams will be officiating.

She was born Sunday, April 7, 1940, in Bryan County to Herman and Birdie Murray.

On July 5, 1958, she married Billy Edward Melton in Durant.

Mrs. Melton grew up in Pleasant Hill, Oklahoma. She loved to sit at home and watch TV, make garage sales, collect angels and play with her Chihuahua, "Patches." Lorene was a great wife, mother, sister and loving grandmother.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Rhonda Nelson, Durant; sisters, Shirley Wilkins and Mozelle Doshier, both of Durant; brother, Wayne Murray, Durant; granddaughter, Brittany Nelson, Durant; grandson, Cheyenne Nelson, Durant; sisters-in-law, Lois Rose, Blue, Mildred Gibson, Midland, Texas, Imogene Knipe, Richland Hills, Texas, and Lorene Horton, Bokchito; nieces Becky Wilkins, Durant, Michelle Brodrick, Platter, Tammy Wilkins, Durant, Latrisha Dunlap, Snow; nephews, Billy Wayne Cooper, Durant, Joshua Wayne Pierce, Durant, and Sam Welch, Archer City, Texas; and other family members James and Janet Nelson of Amarillo, Texas, and numerous other relatives and friends.

Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery Armstrong.

Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
