Janie Jones Cross was born on Tuesday, September 13, 1955, in Bakersfield, California, to Elmer Lee and Mildred Fay Tyree Jones. She passed from this life on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 54 years, 10 months and 29 days.

Janie married Harold Cross on February 7, 1986 in Durant, Oklahoma.

She enjoyed fishing and camping, but being with her grandchildren was her passion.

She was a member of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Cross of the home; son, George Coon and wife Crystal of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter, Crystal Cruz and husband Fernando of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Lewis Ray Cross and wife Michelle of Durant, Oklahoma; brothers, O'Dell Headrick of Durant, Oklahoma; Johnny Jones and wife Barb of Calusa, California; Tommy Lee Jones and wife Susan of Greenville, Texas; Ray Jones and wife Liz of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Thomas Coon, Arien Coon, Jacob Coon, Derek Coon, Brennan Coon, Crispin Cruz, Angelita Cruz, Lilly Anna Cruz, Lewis Ray Cross and Keegan Cross all of Durant, Oklahoma; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Janie was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Lee and Mildred Faye Jones; sister, Judy Jones and brothers, Eugene Headrick and R.J. Headrick.

Family hour will be from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2010 at Holmes -Coffey -Murray Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2010, Holmes -Coffey -Murray Chapel.

Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Armstrong, Oklahoma. Bro. Roger McCoy will officiate.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Cross, Kurt Jones, Scott Jones and Blake Conditt.
