DUMAS - Paul Polasek, 77, died Wednesday, April 17, 2002, in Wheeler.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church in Dumas
with the Rev. Darrell Wait, pastor of First Christian Church, the
Rev. Garry Schwalk, minister of education at First Baptist Church,
and Eugene Polasek, son, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn
Memorial Gardens with a flag presentation by American Legion Post
224 in Dumas. Arrangements are by Morrison Funeral Directors.
Mr. Polasek was born July 8, 1924, in Caddo, Okla. He was a Dumas
and Moore County resident since 1964. He was a member of First
Baptist Church of Dumas. He married Anna M. "Ann" Jones on June 4,
1950, in Floyd County.
He retired from Excel Helium in 1969. He served in the Army during
World War II. He worked for school districts in the Panhandle for 16
years.
He was preceded in death by his wife on March 17, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Eugene Polasek and wife, Deanna, of Pampa;
two brothers, Houston Polasek and wife, Dot, of Abilene, and Bill
Polasek and wife, Carolyn, of Ropesville; three sisters, Mary Gestes
and husband, W.O., Alice Barron and husband, Charles, all of
Wayside, and Barbara Bell and husband, Jack, of Ruidoso, N.M.; two
sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Tommy and Jean Chapman of
O'Brien and Wayland and Margaret Jones of Floydada; a granddaughter,
Stephanie Polasek; and a grandson, Jonathan Polasek.
The family suggests memorials be to Freedom Museum USA, 600 N.
Hobart St., Pampa, TX 79065; or First Baptist Church Youth Fund,
P.O. Box 617, Dumas, TX 79029.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
