JEANNIA JUNE McGHEE
October 15, 1928 - April 12, 2004
Jeannia was born October 15, 1928, in Durant, OK, and has lived in the Bakersfield area for approximately 65 years.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Everett McGhee, Sr.; her son, Everett, Jr.; five grandchildren, Kelly in Arizona, Sandy, Tim, Rett and Cindy in California; and two great grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Alma and Robert in California, Doyle in Oklahoma, Bonnie in Arkansas, Jessie and Anna in Florida. Jeannia was the owner of the western store Chaparral in the Valley Plaza in the late 1960s thru the early 1980s. She was an active member of the Am. Quarter Horse Association as an owner and breeder and a member of the AQHA Racing Association. Jeannia was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post #97 located on So. Union Avenue.
Visitation for Jeannia will be held at Kern River Family Mortuary Chapel, 1900 N. Chester Ave., on Thursday, April 15, 2004 ,from 5-8 p.m. Chapel service will be Friday, April 16, 2004, at 10:00 a.m., also at Kern River Family Mortuary.
