A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Caddo Methodist Church for Margaret Elizabeth Freeny, 83, Caddo, who died Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at her residence. David Mingus will officiate. The daughter of Frederick William and Margaret H. (Hicks) Hoffman, she was born Thursday, Sept. 3, 1925, in Philadelphia, Pa.

She met her husband in Lake Hurst, N.J., and they were married Aug. 25, 1945, in Toms River, N.J.

They resided in California and retired in Caddo. She loved playing Canasta and enjoyed traveling.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, brothers, a great-granddaughter and an infant son.

Survivors include daughters Barbara Freeny, Caddo, and Vivia Artz, Taft, Calif.; sons Andrew Freeny, Taft, and Keotah Freeny, Houston, Texas, and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
