Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Abundant Life Temple in Durant for Addie Mae Edgmon, 83, Durant, who passed away at the age of 83 years, 11 months and 16 days, Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at King's Daughters & Sons Nursing Home. Revs. Tim Cox and Roger McCoy will officiate.
Addie Mae was born Saturday, Nov. 15, 1924, in Wynnewood to Charlie Cottrell and Lula Mae Roady. She married Carlos Edgmon Nov. 21, 1980. She was a beautician.
She was a beloved Christian lady with an unwavering faith in God. She was a witness for the Lord Jesus Christ to all who knew her. Her longtime membership to Abundant Life Temple was very important to her. Some of Mae's joy came from being with Carlos in their motor home, sharing a campsite with whomever might join them. She was known far and wide for her apple dumplings and more. She led a full life whose kindness and warm-hearted humor was felt by family, friends and strangers alike.
Addie Mae was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband; sons David Jackson, Sherman, Texas, and Donnie Jackson and wife Judy, Lockney, Texas; grandchildren Aundrea and Mike Hull, David and Sebrena Jackson, Nancy and Chad Brown, Clint Jackson, Chad Jackson, Shea and Clay Adrian, and Cody and Carrie Jackson; stepchildren Glenda Harrison, Ron Edgmon, Bob Edgmon and Larry Edgmon; 15 great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, eight step-great-granchildren, and stepbrothers and sisters-in-law J. W. Edgmon, Gene and Louise Edgmon, Hazel and Roy Milligan, and Zella and Roy Tyler.
Interment will be at Davis Cemetery in Davis. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Family hour will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the Coffey-Murray Chapel.
Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
