Services for Lwanda Bridges (82) of Durant, Oklahoma will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010, Mead Baptist Church Mead, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Mead Cemetery, Mead, Oklahoma. Family Hour will be 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers will be Brad Thompson, Dustin Thompson, Tyler Reed, Austin Hartman, Jared Gooch, Joey Gooch and Eric Rowland. Arron Hobbs will serve as a honorary pallbearer.
Lwanda Bridges was born January 1, 1928 in Roberta, Oklahoma to Charles and Lilian Gardner Duncan. She passed from this life January 31, 2010 in Durant, Oklahoma, at the age of 82 years 30 days.
Lwanda was a longtime member of the Mead Baptist Church, she loved playing cards, Dominoes, Dancing and Traveling. Her favorite joy was spending time with her children and the rest of her family.
She is survived by her Care Giver and Partner, Orval Pate of Durant, Oklahoma. Daughters and Sons-in law Wanda Jean Jones of Durant, Oklahoma, Vickie Lynn Thompson and Steve of Poteau, Oklahoma, Debbie Denise Reed of Plano, Texas, Jackie Hobbs and Charlie of Calera, Oklahoma, Mari Whitlow and Gary Donihoo of Colbert, Oklahoma. Son and Daughter-in-law Billy Hartman and Kristie of Durant, Oklahoma. Brother and Sister-in-law Randall Thomas and Joyce of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Grandsons and their spouse Bradley Thompson of Poteau, Oklahoma, Dustin Thompson and Amber of Poteau, Oklahoma, Arron Hobbs of Calera, Oklahoma, Tyler Reed of Plano, Texas, Great-Grandchildren and their spouses Austin Hartman of Durant, Oklahoma, Maranda Knight of Mead, Oklahoma, Whitni Knight and Bubba Lopez of Achille, Oklahoma, Alexis Donihoo of Colbert, Oklahoma, Lysbeth Donihoo of Colbert, Oklahoma. Great-Great Grandchildren Kaydance, Mackenzie, Skyler, Alec, Aleesia and Haylee Numerous Neices, Nephews and a host of friends.
Lwanda was preceded in death by her parents; Charlie and Lilian Duncan, the father of her children; Billie James "Pete" Bridges, Sister; Arlene Johnson, Brother; Neil Duncan, Nephews; Jimmy and Johnny Duncan and Billy Griffith.
