On Sunday, August 9, 2020, Marilyn Sue (Bailey) Durst, loving mother passed away at age 81.

Marilyn was preceded in death by husband Gerald Allen Bailey, mother Edith Marie Ashley & father Lubie Marvin Ashley, sisters Maxine Ash, Martha Goggans, Melba Grove, son-in-law Jerry Thomas Laney, one niece, Barbara Ann (Higgins) Owens, and one nephew, Troy Gentry. She is survived by her daughter Sharon Kay (Peables) Laney, son James (Joe) David Peables Jr., son Marvin (Hoss) Perry Peables and daughter-in-love, Shelly, and four step-children. Along with many other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren who knew her as Gammie, Grannie, and Grandma.

Marilyn was born on May 7, 1939 in Durant, OK to Edith Marie Ashley and Lubie Marvin Ashley and was a member of the Baptist Faith. She was a soda jerk, waitress, and business owner of various entities near Harlton, TX. She enjoyed attending local concerts, singing karaoke, playing bingo, dancing, and spending time with those she loved.

Services for Marilyn are scheduled for 2pm on August 14, 2020 at Mead Cemetery located in Bryan County, Oklahoma. Flowers and condolences can be sent to Cunningham Funeral Homes in Colbert.
