Ronald H. Bates passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011 in Henryetta, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years 10 months and 30 days. He was born on Wednesday, July 29, 1936 to LeRoy J. and Willie (Cox) Bates in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ronald served in the United States Army.

The job he held during his lifetime was as a welder. He was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Durant, Oklahoma. Ronald loved to read and watch Nascar, but he especially enjoyed working with the people at church.

His surviving relatives are daughters, Candy Simien of Durant, Oklahoma and Vicki Tucker of Southmayd, Texas; grandchildren, Stephen Heath Bates, Sarah Tucker, Matthew Tucker, Zacharias Tucker, Joeline Simien, John Simien, Joseph Simien, Jr., and 11 great grandchildren; brother, Clifford Bates; sister, Linda Eades; and many other family and friends.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, LeRoi and Willie Bates.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the First Church of the Nazarene, Durant, Oklahoma with Rev. John Kinsey officiating.
