Lavern Ash a resident of Mead, Oklahoma passed from this life into the next in Bonham, Texas on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the age of 76 years 3 months and 4 days. She was born in Hylton, Texas on December 25, 1937 to John Benjamin and Etta Mae (Lovington) Lynn. Laverne married Arlie Ruel Ash in 1956.

Laveren will be remembered by many in McKinney, Texas as the familiar face at the Town House Restaurant where she worked for 40 years. She was a member of the Baptist Faith. Lavern enjoyed having a needle in her hand sewing for her family. Mrs. Ash is survived by her sister, Pauline Stewart of Abilene, Texas; step-children, Anita Eskes of Farmington, Arkansas and Arley "Bud" Ash and wife Judy of Mead, Oklahoma; 11 step-grandchildren, 30 step-great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ash was preceded in death by her parents, John and Etta Mae Lynn; husband Arlie Ruel Ash; brother, Jack Lynn.

Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 PM Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Holmes - Coffey - Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Services in honor of her memory will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Mead Baptist Church in Mead with Bro. Kerry Groce officiating. Interment will follow at Mead Cemetery.
