Johnnie Fred Trent, Durant, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, in Durant.

Services are Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Mead Baptist Church with Rev. Kerry Groce officiating.

He was born December 18, 1918, in Holsom Valley, to Fred & Tina (Lay) Trent. Johnnie loved his family, gardening, hunting and fishing. He was of the Baptist faith. Johnnie was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union since 1950 in California. He retired in 1980 from the Dallas Local but still remained an active union member until his death.

Johnnie married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Hilburn, on May 11, 1936, in Mead. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Trent; sons, Bill Trent and wife Virginia, Wayne Trent and wife Connie. Johnnie is also survived by seven adopted children, Charles Dean Trent and wife Faye of Telephone, Texas; Teresa (Trent) Taipale and husband Kevin of Weatherford, Texas; Jerry Trent and wife Teri of Sherman, Texas; Rae (Trent) Mitchell and husband Don of Roberta; Perry Trent and wife T.J. of Durant; Sheila Trent of Mead; and Donna (Trent) Giles of Mead. Johnnie is also survived by five grandchildren, Ronnie Trent and wife Mandy of Durant; Johnnie Trent and wife Aletha of Durant; Tabatha (Trent) Sexton and husband Brent of Calera; Tiffany (Trent) Paris of Mead, and Tessa Trent Dunlap of Mead. Also, twenty three great grandchildren, Nichole and Brittany Trent; Veruca Svendsen, Trent Sexton, Karissa Smith, Rayne Paris, Kylie and Kaitlin Trent, Adam and Lauren Trent, Johnathan and Jennifer Taipale, Candice and Brittanie Trent, Erica Tomlinson, Kendall Mitchell, Luke Culley, Rustin and Waylon Trent, Dacoda Witherspoon, Jessie Timmons, Hannah McKay, Nolan Giles. In addition are five great-great grandchildren, Aliyah and Aubrey Tomlinson, Zachery Taipale, Zane Trent, and Braxton Trent.

Johnnie was preceded in death by son, Charles Dale Trent; daughters Dorothy Ann (Trent) Morris and Barbara Gail Trent; two sisters Margaret Helen (Trent) Newton and Louise (Trent) Myers; and parents Fred and Tinny Trent.

Pallbearers: Charles Dean Trent, Perry Allen Trent, Jerry Lee Trent, Billy Ronald Trent, Jr., Johnnie Forest Trent and Kevin Taipale.

Honorary Pallbearers: Adam Trent, Jonathan Taipale and Kendall Mitchell.

Burial will be at Highland Cemetary, Durant.

Family hour will be tonight at Coffey-Murray Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 7 p.m.

Arrangements are being handled by Coffey -Murray Funeral Home.
