Leonard L Sweeney 83 of Durant passed from this life Saturday, December 15, 2015 at his home. He was born in Kemp, Oklahoma to Elmer and Willie B. (Flemmons) Sweeney on December 24, 1931.
Mr. Sweeney has been a long time resident of Durant. He married Dean (Youree) Sweeney in Durant on December 6, 1957. He served our country in the United States Army. He was a salesman for Potters Sausage for many years.
Mr. Sweeney is survived by his wife, Dean of the home; sons, Tim Sweeney and wife Sandra of Madill, Ok and Tony Sweeney and wife Shelley of Durant, Ok; daughter, Cindy White of Durant, Ok; grandsons; Spencer and wife Loryne Sweeney, Logan Sweeney, and Matthew Kahl all of Durant, Ok; granddaughters; Courtney Petty and husband Jesse, Hillary Cross and husband Greg all of Durant, Ok, Kassie Sweeney, Erin Sweeney and fiancÚ Jon Franklin Holstein of Oklahoma City, Ok, and Amanda Bird and husband Brandon of Ardmore, Ok; great-grandchildren, McKenzee and McKenlee Petty, Remberance and Royal Sweeney, Conley Sweeney, and Burkley Cross all of Durant, Ok.
Mr. Sweeney was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Elmer Sweeney; and brother, Donnie Sweeney.
A family hour will be held Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 6-7PM at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. The service will be Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:00 am at the Holmes-Coffey- Murray Chapel with Bro.Tommy Kramer officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Santos Gonzleal, Jaimine Lewis, Chris Barber, Johnny Christian, Richard McIntire, Joe Harp, Dwayne Young, and Jonathon Slaton.
