Jerry Sherrill, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the age of 67 years 11 months and 21 days. He was born on Thursday, June 15, 1944 in Durant, Oklahoma to Roscoe McCalib and Lucy Lee (Brooks) Sherrill. Jerry married Carol Cole in Durant, Oklahoma on Saturday, August 3, 1974.

Jerry was employed by the Indian Nation Wholesale in Durant, Oklahoma. He was the former owner of Sherrill's Minute Mart. Jerry attended the Seventh-Day-Adventist Church. He was a talented bowler attaining 10 perfect games. Jerry was a team roper for many years. He enjoyed reading and watching sports of all kinds.

Mr. Sherrill is survived by his wife, Carol Sherrill of Durant, Oklahoma; son, Trace Cole Sherrill and wife Dena of Durant, Oklahoma; granddaugther; Ashley Young of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Page Parker and husband Richard of Durant, Oklahoma; granddaugther, Hannah Parker of Durant, Oklahoma; grandson, Cole Parker of Durant, Oklahoma; brother, Jim Sherrill of Durant, Oklahoma.

Mr. Sherrill was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe and Lucy Sherrill and grandson, Colton Trace Sherrill.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Abundant Life Temple in Durant, Oklahoma with Brad Jones, Stephen Dennis, Michael Smith and Rex Shores officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Dennis Gearhart, Dudley Rowland, Jack Wells, James Vandergriff, Greg Thurman, Jerry Mullens, Larry Lorance and Robert Higgins. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Sherrill, Weldon Cole, Bobby Carr, Robert McCoy, Steve Satterfield, Benny Holt, James Hedrick, Tom Criswell, Nathan Williams and Keith Watson. In lieu of flowers of the family suggests donations be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Durant or the Colton Sherrill Memorial Fund.
