Jewell Ransom a resident of Durant, Oklahoma and beloved family member went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the age of 89. She was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on October 24, 1925 to Gervis and Mattie (Parker) Robinson. Jewell Robinson married Isaac “Ike” Ransom in Beggs, Oklahoma on April 18, 1946.

Jewell was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was the co-owner of the Singer Sewing store in Durant, Oklahoma from 1971-1998. Jewell love being outside in her garden.

Mrs. Ransom is survived by her daughter, Pamela Adams and husband Douglas of Denver, Colorado; grandson, Tyler Adams of Dallas, Texas; granddaughter, Taylor Adams Danser of Dallas, Texas; brothers, Vernon Robinson of Choctaw, Oklahoma and Sanford Robinson of Mesa, Arizona.

Mrs. Ransom was preceded in death by her parents, Gervis and Mattie Robinson; husband, Isaac "Ike" Ransom; son, Randy Ransom.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 7-8:00 PM Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A church service in her honor will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 9, 2015 at the First Baptist Church with Rev. James Robinson officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery. The pallbearers will be John Buchanan, Tyler Adams, Michael Danser and Douglas Adams.
