Lula Maria Watkins Ralston

Lula Maria Ralston, 89, of Durant, Oklahoma peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018, in Calera, Oklahoma, joining her husband in heaven after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Lula was born September 19, 1929 in Nashoba, Oklahoma to Pierce and Nancy Leanna (Bruce) Watkins.

She graduated from Clayton High School. She married Billy Eugene Ralston on August 11, 1948 in Paris, Texas. They had three children, which they raised in LaHabra, California. She assisted her husband by bookkeeping for the family business, was a homemaker, and an avid gardener. She loved playing games and spending time with her grandchildren. Lula and Billy eventually found their way back to Oklahoma and enjoyed traveling in their retirement years. She was an active member of Armstrong Baptist Church.

Lula was preceded in death by her husband, Billy; her daughter, Rebecca Ward; her parents; brothers Carl, Marvin, and Buck, and sisters Oma, Stella, Ocie, and Barbara.

Lula is survived by her son Billy Ralston II and wife Linda of Durant, Oklahoma; daughter Reba Rummel and husband Dan of Avondale, Arizona; son in law Michael Ward of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren Kurt Ziola and wife Jessica of Avondale, Arizona, Nichole Jensen of Mckinney, Texas, Callie Coto and husband Fermin of Sunnyvale, California, Billy Ralston III of Durant, Oklahoma, and Ashley Wilsie and husband Gary of Durant, Oklahoma; four great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM October 6, 2018 at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Pastor Monty Wood will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Calera Manor and Centrix Hospice for their love, kindness, and support.
