Simon "Bud" Phillips

Graveside military services were at 10:00 a.m. today at Highland Cemetery for Simon "Bud" Phillips, 84, Durant, who died Monday, September 14, 1998 in Calera Manor Nursing Home. The Rev Charles Williams officiated.

Mr Phillips was born March 9, 1914 in Idabel to Benjamin and Ida Peters Phillips.

He worked at Durant Milling Company.

He was a lifetime member of the DAV Post 25, VFW Post 3916 and was a veteran sergeant of WWII where he served in the Army in the European Theatre.

He attended school in Idabel.

Mr. Phillips married Helen Dale Goodwon Phillips on December 24, 1945 in Durant.

He was preceded in death by hs parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Survivors includ his wife, Helen; sons, Danny, Durant and Wayne and his wife Sherry of Hartshorne; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two neices and one nephew.

Brown's Durant Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
