Mary Sue Pena Norman a lifelong resident of Durant, Ok went to be with Jesus on Monday April 1, 2019 surrounded by family and close friends. Mary Sue was born on April 12, 1940 in Durant, OK to R.L. and Inez Pena.

She married the love of her life, David Norman, on June 20, 1959 in Durant, OK. They were married for 59 years and welcomed to this union 3 sons and 1 daughter.

She worked for 30 plus years at Durant Daily Democrat and was a proud homemaker. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and sitting on the back porch watching the birds and squirrels while bossing David around. She was always willing to give her time and service to help anyone no matter the need.

She was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws.

Mary is survived by her husband, David of the home; sons, Randy Norman, Ronnie Norman and wife Ronda, Kyle Norman and wife Kelli and daughter, Deirdre Schreier and husband Wes all of Durant. Grandchildren Christy Cromer and husband Cody, Durant, OK, Rachel Norman and Jason Boston, Texarkana, TX, Rylan Norman and wife Jenna, Durant, OK, Rett Norman and wife Brianna, Newcastle, OK, Tice Norman, Durant, OK, Turner Norman, Las Vegas, NV, Kylee Schreier, Durant, OK and Dava Schreier, Durant, OK. Great grandchildren, Braden, Kasen, Hudson and Hadley Hamilton, Durant, OK, Ellie Norman, Newcastle, OK, Chase and Kimberlee, Durant, OK , sisters Linda Rigdon and husband Phil, Fort Worth, TX, Jane Skelton and husband Daryl, Aledo, TX, Kim Morris and husband Tom, Durant, OK, brother Dennis Pena and wife Dee Dee, brother in law Bob Norman and wife Peggy Sherman, TX, sisters in law Judy White Durant, OK, Patsy Hunt and husband David, Denton, TX. Special friends Virginia Vietta, Patti Patterson, Kevin Farr, Trittany McClour, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A service to honor Mary Sue will be on Monday, April 8, 10 am at Calvary Baptist Church. Family hour will be Sunday, April 7, 5-6 pm at Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. Pall bearers will be Rylan, Rett, Tice and Turner Norman, Braden Hamilton, Cody Cromer, Jason Boston and Norman White.

The family wishes to thank Victory Home Health Staff, Melanie Lehr and Melinda Brown, Dr. Linda Castillo and staff, the 8th floor nurses and staff at TMC for the personal care they provided while Mary fought her 8 year battle with cancer.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Falls Creek Fund at Calvary Baptist Church.
