Birth: April 3, 1950

Services for James Carlton Jones, 57, of Durant who passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma will be held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Bob DeWoody will officiate.

James was born April 3, 1950 in Sherman, Texas to Jack Carlton and Joice Tadlock Jones.

He attended and graduated high school in Durant. At the age of 21, he went to work for Coors Distributing and has worked there for 36 years.

He married Kathy Springer June 26, 1971 in Utica.

James was a former member of the Little Dixie fishing club and the Elks lodge. He enjoyed fishing, OU football and working in his yard. His grandkids were the light of his life. James will be missed by all who know and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Joice Jones; grandparents, Luther Jones, Alvie Lifsie and Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Tadlock.

Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Kathy Jones of the home; sons, Eric Carlton of the home and Nathan Brandon Jones and wife, Marie of Durant; daughter, Tricia Bridges and husband Rustin of Sherman; special sons, Nicky Mackey and wife Sunny of Denison, Texas and Ramein Bahkshi of Dallas, Texas; brother, Terry Matthews of Pauls Valley; sister, Zoann Stadum of Durant; grandchildren, Dustin and Alyssa May of Durant and Kayson Alandra Bridges of Sherman; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Family hour will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., tonight, at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Durant with Matt Matthews, Michael Ray Chapman, Richard Bush, Brian Jones, Chad Hitchcock, Kevin Hitchcock, Paul Williams and Jimmy Pena serving as pallbearers.
