Mary Lou Clark Garner

Mary Lou Garner, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, left this life and joined her Savior on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at the age of 86 years and 20 days. Family hour will be from 7-8:00 PM Friday November 15th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A celebration of her life will be held graveside at 10:00 AM on Saturday November 16th at the Highland Cemetery Chapel in Durant, Oklahoma with Rodney Sprayberry officiating.

Mary gladly dedicated her life to serving her Lord and Savior during her lifetime. She attended the 1st Baptist Church in Durant and the Bushnell Baptist Church. Mary was a talented seamstress, she enjoyed sewing clothes for her loved ones. She liked working with her hands creating crafts and crocheting. Mary enjoyed traveling, playing dominoes, roller skating (when she was younger) and collecting bunnies and bears.

Mrs. Garner is survived by her cherished husband, Melvin of the home; daughters, Vickie Slakey and husband Rick of Sherman, Texas and Cathy Gant and husband Barry of Sherman, Texas; son, Jim Garner and wife April of Canton, Texas; grandchildren, Stuart Slakey and wife Rami of Sherman, Texas, Kendall Garner of Durant, Oklahoma, Kailey Garner of Durant, Oklahoma, Ashley Walker of Canton, Texas, and Hannah Walker of Canton, Texas; five great-grandchildren; and she is also survived by her siblings, Arlen Clark and wife Joyce of Durant, Oklahoma, Dorothy Alred of Greenville, Texas, and Barbara House and husband Gene of Denison, Texas.

Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Jettie Clark; and siblings, Glayds Scott and Lloyd Clark.
