Wilma Mae Holland Elliston

Wilma Mae (Holland) Elliston a longtime resident of Durant, Oklahoma a respected teacher passed away at her home on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the age of 96. She was born to Robert William and Juda Grace (McCormack) Holland on July 27, 1918 in Durant, Oklahoma. Wilma Mae Holland married Earlie Everett Elliston in Atoka, Oklahoma on December 25, 1941.

Wilma committed 35 years of her life to Education as a school teacher in Blue and Achille before she retired. She was a godly woman who loved serving her Lord and Savior, it was her life. Wilma was a founding mother, NMI President and faithful dedicated member of the New Hope Church of the Nazarene, where she taught Sunday School. She was a talented Interior Design displayer who helped people make their homes beautiful for 30 years and could often be found outside enjoying her yard work.

Mrs. Elliston is survived by her son, Robert Elliston of Chilmark, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Dagny Elliston of Boston, Massachusetts, Heather Elliston of Falmouth, Massachusetts and William Casey Elliston of Chilmark, Massachusetts; brother, James Franklin Holland of Mountain Home, Arkansas; also survived by nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Mrs. Elliston was preceded in death by her parents, Robert William and Juda Grace Holland; husband, Earlie E. Elliston; brother, Robert Freeman Holland; sister, Wanda Murl Holland Risner.

Family Hour will be from 9-10:00 AM Friday May 22, 2015 at New Hope Church of the Nazerene in Durant, Oklahoma before the funeral service. A celebration of her life will follow at 10:00 AM with Rev. Clifford Joins officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be the church family of the New Hope Church of the Nazerene.
