Nathan Harold "Slick" Daniel

Nathan Harold Daniel of Mead, Oklahoma went home to be with his Lord on Friday, March 25, 2011 in Denison, Texas at the age of 86 years 8 months and 6 days. He entered this life on Saturday, July 19, 1924 in Kiersey, Oklahoma to Almond Addison and Myrtle Ida (Bagget) Daniel. N. H. “Slick” married Natalie B. Watson on November 27, 1942 in Durant, Oklahoma. N. H. was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mead, Oklahoma.

He was a peanut farmer most of his life. Slick also ran a snow cone stand on Lake Texoma. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

N. H. is survived by his wife, Natalie Daniel of the Mead home; grandson, Nathan H. Daniel III and wife, Rachel of Durant, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Emma Lou Daniel and Kya Hawk both of Durant, Oklahoma; brother, James Daniel of Burleson, Texas; sisters, Billie Trout of Richardson, Texas and Betty McKinney of Louisiana; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Mr. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Almond Addison and Myrtle Ida Daniel; brothers, Jack Daniel and A.J. Daniel; sister, Pearl Doraty; half-brother, Rodey McClaren; son, N. H. Daniels II.

Services for Mr. Daniel will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Chapel, Durant, Oklahoma with Rev. Kerry Groce officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery with Mike Davis, Ceaser, Ag Alexander, Terry Medford, Mark Medford and Derek Daniel serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are J.C. Germany, J.D. Carpenter and Roy Dillard. Family hour will be 7-8 P.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.

Services are under the direction of Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home, Durant, Oklahoma.
