Dorothy Virginia Woods Cosby

Dorothy Virginia Cosby a beloved family member and resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away to join her savior in Heaven on Friday, February 12, 2016 in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania at the age of 85 years 10 months and 30 days. She was born on Thursday, March 13, 1930 in Durant, Oklahoma to Franklin and Edna (Hines) Woods. Dorothy Woods married Will Cosby in Chelan, Washington in December 1950.

Dorothy was a dedicated Church of Christ member. She loved to travel, visiting many countries: France, Holland, Germany, Belgium, and most of the United States. Dorothy was an animal lover, she especially loved her bichon Teddy and poodle Duchess. A caring mother and homemaker she enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Dorothy was interested in politics, and she had a caring heart that lead to caring for the elderly while employed by Elder Care.

Mrs. Cosby is survived by her children, Virginia "Genny" Emmert of Horseheads, New York, Ron and Joyce Cosby of Calera Oklahoma, and Wendy and Terry Miles of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Tia and Jeremy Moen of Azle, Texas, Matthew and Yolonda Emmert of Lawrenceville, Pennsylvania, Russ and Kelly Miles of Lansing, Michigan, Aaron and Melissa Emmert of Valley View, Texas and Shannon Cosby of Calera, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Dylan, and Alyssa Moen, Cassie, Kirstin, and Zach Emmert, Zach, Trinity, and Xander Miles, Sydney and Sophie Emmert and Caleb Cosby; sister, Alice Ramsey and brother, Benny Woods; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

,p>Mrs. Cosby was preceded in death by her husband, Will Cosby; mother, Edna Woods; father, Frank Woods; son-in- law Mike Emmert; brothers, Claude Woods and James Woods; and sister, Mary Howell.

Family Hour will be from 7:00-8:00 PM Thursday, February 18 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant. A Chapel Service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 19 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Chapel with Bro. Don Gelles officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be will be her beloved grandchildren.
