A service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Highland Cemetery Chapel for Quanah Faye Shepherd Chapa, 79, Calera, who died Sunday, December 28, 2003, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma. The Rev. Anthony Williams will officiate.

She was born May 11, 1924, in Ben Franklin, Texas, to George and Hester Lee Darby Shepherd.

She was a hairdresser and a member of the Church of Christ.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and raising chickens.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry DeSignori; brothers, Kenneth and Henry Shepherd, sister, Betty Earlywine and grandson, Tracy Beshirs.

She is survived by her sons, Ronnie DeSignori and wife Millie of Modesto, California; Johnny Beshirs and Geary Beshirs and wife Carolyn, all of Durant; daughter, Lawana Briedwell and husband Ronald of Durant; brothers, Johnny Shepherd and wife Shirley of Durant, and Albert Shepherd and wife Trudy, Magalia, California; sister, Jennie Johnson and husband Orvale of Calera, fifteen grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren.

Burial will be in Highland Cemetery with honorary pallbearers Geary W. Beshirs II, Ronnie Briedwell, Stony Briedwell, Ethan Briedwell, David Dickey and Keith Giles.

Family hour is 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Coffey-Murray Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
