Johnnie Jack Carriger

Johnnie Jack Carriger moved from Durant Oklahoma to Heaven to be reunited with his wife, Louise. Jack was born in Pittsburg, Oklahoma to Robert and Florence (Hoffar) Carriger. Jack was the Manager of Steger Lumber Company for 60 years and just recently retired. Jack was a Christian, a proud disabled veteran of WWII, a dedicated Mason, (member of Lodge 45 and Scottish rite consistory at McAlester, a Bedouin Lodge Shriners at Guthrie), a life member of VFW, member of I.O.O.F., and an Elks Lodge member. He was a good father, a good grandfather and great-grandfather, a good brother and a good friend to many. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards and dominos. He loved his family and was a generous provider.

Jack was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert and Florence Carriger; and three brothers, Billy, Froman and James.

Surviving relatives: Sisters, June Carriger and Polly Edwards and her husband Bob. Â Son, Â Billy Joe Carriger and wife Pat. Grandchildren, Robin Carriger and wife Cindy, Staci Weekly and her husband John and daughter Alexis. Great-grandchildren, Charity Bankhead and husband Chris and Christopher Carriger. Nephew, Jimmy Carriger and wife Shirley. Nieces, Janet Gleese and husband Tom and Debbie Paul and husband David.

The family would also like to say a special thanks to caregivers and a very special thanks to Frank Gilbert, Â Anne Sipe and Janelle Pierce.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Victory Life Chapel, Durant, Oklahoma. Pastors Duane Sheriff and Lee Armstrong will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma. Serving as pallbearers will be Carl Marlow, Jeff Patton, Darrell Thornton, Ted Moore, Frank Gilbert and Roger Mayhue. Honorary pallbearer will be Sam Ham.

Family Hour will be Monday, June 11, 2012, 6-7 P.M. at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.
