Lee Hester Carman

Lee (Hester) Carman, 92, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, of natural causes.

Lee was born on Feb. 12, 1923, in Wilson, Oklahoma, to Claude and Ethel Hester. Lee was raised in Wilson with her two siblings, Jack and Luree Hester.

At the peak of her career she became the first female landsman for (then) Samedan Oil Corporation, from where she retired in 1986. In life, she raised her two children, Roy and Marilee and welcomed many grandchildren into her family over the coming years.

She was known for her love of sports, and donating to several charities throughout the world in hopes of making the world a better place.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Marilee Davis, son Roy Carman, granddaughter Petra Leach, grandson Brian Leach, parents Claude and Ethel Hester, and great-great-grandson Nathan Evans, as well as brother Jack Hester and sister, Luree Hester-Claxton.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Louis Davis, grandchildren, John Leach and Stacey Leach-Kirchoff; great-grandchildren, Carina and Joe O’Canna, Sebastian and Ashley Weiss, Samantha Corkery, Michell Leach, Ian and Osa Kirchoff; and her great-great-grandchildren, Isaiah Evans, Annamarie Hopkins, Liliana and Joey O’Canna, Mandey Weiss, Damian Krause, Madison and Marley Corkery; and nephew, Mike Hester as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews and even great, great nieces and nephews from across the country.

Funeral services were held Oct. 24, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home in Kalispell, Montana. Her remains will be laid to rest next to her son Roy in Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.

May her soul eternally rest in peace, for she will be dearly missed by all those who loved her.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.
