Services for George C. Breeden, Jr., 64, Durant, who passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fairview Baptist Church, Durant. Rev. Jeff Arnold will officiate.
Breeden was born on Jan. 24, 1944, to George C. and Sylvia (Gurley) Breeden. He married Linda King on Dec. 7. 1963, in Gainesville, Texas.
Breeden graduated from ECU with a BS in acc ounting set for his C.P.A. exam in 1966. He worked for City Service Natural Gas in Oklahoma City. He also worked for Griffin and Horn C.P.A. in Ada, and worked for Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Breeden retired from Big Five as interim director in 2007. He was a C.P.A. for 43 years.
Breeden loved to spend time with his family and grandkids in the woods and at home. His favorite times were spent in the deer woods and four wheeling.
Breeden was preceded in death by his parents; brother David Breeden; grandparents and brother-in-law Franklin King.
He is survived by his wife; sons George Breeden III and wife Michelle, Durant, and Billy Orloff and wife Laura, Van Alstyne, Texas; grandson Josh Breeden of the University of Oklahoma in Norman; granddaughter Megan Breeden “His Honey Bunny Number 1,” Durant; brothers Dick Coy and wife Kathy, Taylorville, Ill., John Breeden and wife Helen, Ada, Jerry Breeden and wife Katie, Ada, and Robert Breeden and wife Pam, Ada; sister-in-law Viola Hoffman and husband Bill, Murphy, Texas; special nephews Rick Coy and wife Mary, and Shannon (Paul) Coy and wife Dani, all of Taylorville, Ill.; and numerous other family members.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Durant, with Jerry Tomlinson, Scott Burkett, Kris McElroy, Ron Stilwell, B.J. Mullens and Mike Skinner serving as pallbearers.
Family hour will be today from 7-8 p.m. at the Coffey-Murray Funeral Home.
