Bobby Lance "Bob" Bedwell

Bobby Lance Bedwell a resident of Edmond, OK and a loving dedicated father, teacher, brother, grandfather and friend passed from this life into the next in Oklahoma City, OK on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the age of 79 years 5 months and 9 days. He was born on Thursday, January 9, 1936 in Utica, OK to Robert Cecil and Nadine (Ewing) Bedwell. Bobby married his best friend, loving wife and partner in life for 57 years LaMoyne McManus in Durant, OK on November 27, 1958. Together they were grateful to God for all His blessings and they knew that his mercies were new every morning.

Bob graduated from Durant High School in 1954 and from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in 1959 with a BA degree in Instrumental Music then went on to commit most of his life working in the field of music as a High School Band Director and Music Therapist at the State School in Paul’s Valley, OK. Bob’s favorite hobby was gardening, he enjoyed listening to classical music, especially Tchaikovsky, watching old movies, camping in the states of Colorado and Wyoming, participating in a variety of sports, telling stories from his childhood memories and remembering the father he greatly admired Robert Cecil Bedwell. He cherished spending time with his family and considered them his greatest blessings. He never met a stranger and will always be remembered for his compassionate heart and his striving toward perfection in all area’s of his life.

Mr. Bedwell is survived by his wife, LaMoyne Sue Bedwell of Edmond, OK; sons, Brett Lee Bedwell and wife Ranine of Washington, IL, Barry Layne Bedwell and wife Cindy Bedwell of Belleville, MI, Blake Lance Bedwell and wife Susan Bedwell of Edmond, OK; brother Gary Bedwell and wife Ginger of Phoenix, AZ; sisters-in-law, Joelle Bedwell of Temple, TX and Janice Bedwell of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Rebecca, Rachel, Debra, Mark, Matthew, Bradley, Melanie, Brittany, Hayden, and Hannah; great grandchildren, Jason, Peyton, Olivia, Madeline, Reed, and Ryan and numerous nieces and nephews.

,p> Mr. Bedwell was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Cecil and Nadine Bedwell; brother, Michael Bedwell and brother Ewing Mack Bedwell.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 5-7:00 PM Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, OK. A chapel service in honor of his life will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Chapel with Rev. Barry Bedwell officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bradley Bedwell, Matthew Bedwell, Hayden Bedwell, Bobby Caudie, Mark Bedwell and David Bedwell.
