Tommy C. Attaway, Jr. passed from this life Sunday, November 1, 2009 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 61 years. He was born Thursday, June 3, 1948 in Southgate, California to Tom and Naomi (Sandall) Attaway, Sr. Tommy Married Joyce Downs in Durant, Oklahoma on July 9, 1971. Mr. Attaway was a member of the First Baptist Church in Durant, Tommy had a great personal relationship with Jesus Christ so we know without a doubt that he is safely in His arms, He loved gardening, mowing , being outdoors, water skiing, hunting, fishing and he enjoyed delivering Meals On Wheels. Tommy was an avid OU Football Fan. Tommy was a Vietnam Veteran serving with the United States Army 9th. Infantry Division. He was a Life Time Member of the AmVets.

He is survived by his wife Joyce of the home, Mother, Naomi Attaway of Durant, Oklahoma, Sisters, Judi Dean & husband Tom of Frisco, Texas and Joyce Allen & husband John of Blue Ridge,Texas, Brother, Tim Attaway of Durant, Oklahoma 7 Special Nieces & Nephews Amy, Cris, Michael, Greg, Andy, Jenny & John Ryan. Extended family members Mr & Mrs Chuck Downs & family, Mr & Mrs Bobby Downs & family of Durant, Oklahoma, Mr & Mrs Bill Downs and family of Edmond, Oklahoma. Loving Pets Ginger Boo-Boo & Fluffy of the home.

Mr. Attaway is preceded in death by his Father, Tom C. Attaway, Sr..

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Durant First Baptist Church in Durant, Oklahoma Bro.James Robinson will officiate. His nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Mitchell, Mike (Bucky) Rose, Truman (Clicker) Dansby, Tom Murphy, Kenneth (Cornbread) Bounds, Tony Stubblefield, Randal Blakemore, Ernie Joseph and Richard Craig. Internment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Durant, Oklahoma.

Family hour will be Wednesday, November 4, 2009 7-8 P.M. at the Coffey-Murray Funeral Home. At the request of the family in lieu of flowers please make donations to First Baptist Church in Durant, Families Feeding Families or Meals on Wheels.
