Lucretia, 91, passed away on November 20, 2019. She lived in Durant. Lucretia was born at Bokchito, Oklahoma. Her parents were Grover and Aurilla Adams. At an early age, she attended Goodland Indian School in Hugo. After graduating from high school, she attended Southeastern State University in Durant and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah. After teaching for several years, she received a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Southeastern State University. She worked as a Teacher, Counselor, and served as Title VI Director at Bacone College in Muskogee. Lucretia belonged to the Muskogee Quilting Guild for many years and enjoyed quilting. She also enjoyed: traveling, reading, and doing crossword puzzles. Lucretia is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Benny Adams, GA Adams, Nora Katherine Brown, and Noweta Skinner. She is survived by children: Linda Booker, Ernest and (Pearl) Dry, Jr., James and (LaDona) Dry, Doug and (Pat) Dry, Edward and (Stacey) Dry, Joe and (Shelly) Dry, and Kathy Dry. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 10:00 AM Friday, November 22, 2019 at Highland Cemetery in Durant. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
