Loyd Dale Sims of Caddo, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 in Caddo, Oklahoma at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 29 days, He was born on Friday, February 11, 1921 in Armstrong, Oklahoma to Augustus Washington and Emma Ophelia (Laha) Sims. Mr. Sims was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caddo, Oklahoma.

Loyd's favorite hobbies were watching football games, working on small engines, fishing and going to Cumberland Cut at Blue River especially after it had rained. He was a member of the Caddo Lodge #003 for 57 years. Mr. Sims married Mildred Draper on April 11, 1946 in Sherman, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Sims of the home; daughters, Rosalyne Pickens and husband John Wayne of Durant, Oklahoma and Cathy Branch and husband John of Olden, Texas; son, Dale Sims and wife Nancy of Porter, Texas; brother, Glen "Andy" Sims of Lewisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Michael Mugler and wife Jenise of Windsor, Missouri, Matthew Mugler and wife Laura of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Arie Mugler Downs and husband Jason of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Kriss Winningham and husband DeWayne of Hurst, Texas, Rachael and Abigail Sims of Porter, Texas, Brent Eads and wife Angie of Whitewright, Texas, Isreal Pickens and wife Michelle of Savanah, Oklahoma, Michelle Henderson of Denison, Texas, Jonnie Wombabaker and husband David and family, Michelle DeCelle and husband Bob and family and Michael Branch and Krista and family; great-grandchildren, Serina, Kaitlyn and Jacob, Mugler, Austin Goodheart, Shelby Eads and special friend Darius King, Tiannah and Evin Mugler, Katelynn and Brooke Downs, Seth, Devin, and Lilly Eads, Kade Winningham, Sach and Theus Henderson, Derek, Trent and Rylee Pickens; great-great-grandchild, Keylan King and another on the way in May.

Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his parents, A.W. and Emma Sims; brothers, Bill, Warren and Leon Sims; sisters, Allene, Fran, Doralee "Gert".

Services for Mr. Sims will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 13, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Caddo, Oklahoma with Rev. Mack Chambers and Rev. Charles Lloyd officiating. Interment will follow in the Gethsemane Cemetery with Michael Mugler, Matthew Mugler, Brent Eads, Isreal Pickens, Gary Wingfield and Rick Wingfield serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Graham, William Sims, Mike Sims and Jason Downs.

Family Hour will be 5-6 P.M. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home.
