Vera Mae-Giles-Gentry Cook a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed from this life at her home on Sunday, July 7, 2013 at the age of 85 years 7 months and 30 days. She was born to Floyd and Florence (Robinson) Giles in Colbert, Oklahoma on Tuesday, November 8, 1927.

Vera was a member of the Baptist faith. She was very creative and enjoyed doing crafts, and reading her Bible.

Mrs. Cook is survived by her sons, Frankie Gentry of Durant, Oklahoma and Willie Gentry of Durant, Oklahoma; daughters, Wynona Ragan Lewis of Ravenna, Texas, Elizabeth Wilson of Luella, Texas, Patsy Brown of Durant, Oklahoma and Wanda Booe of Denison, Texas; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Florence Giles; husband, Claud Cook; father of her children, W.M. Gentry; sisters, Ruth Bridges, Ilene Brown, Christine Giles and Inez Osborne; brothers, Marion, F.E., William and Doyle Giles;son, Martin Gentry; grandson, Raymond Booe; great-granddaughter, Erika Lewis.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Garden of Memories Pavilion Colbert, Oklahoma with Rev. Perry Montgomery and Bro. Bryan Spurgin officiating.
