Services to celebrate the life of Donal “Butch” Cummings, 63, of High Ridge, Missouri, and former resident of Bryan County who passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, at his home will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, at Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Charles Loyd will officiate.
Don was born Nov. 30, 1944, in Durant to Luther and Bessie Andis Cummings. He was a member of the Hoisting Union No. 573, the Elks, American Legion Post No. 253 and Eagles. He enjoyed shooting matches, hunting, calf roping and playing music. He is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and one brother L.B. Cummings.
Don is survived by his fiancé, Shirley Boyer Miller of Cadet, Mo.; daughters, Lisa Seay and husband Mark of Sand Springs and Angie Cole of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Beth and Michael; sister, Zona Loyd and husband Charles of Caddo; and numerous other relatives and a host of dear and loved friends.
Interment will be in Burney Cemetery with Eddie Loyd, Lynn Jackson, Erwin Nix, Glenn Loyd, William Coxwell, Jerry Presley and Charlie Howell serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
