Betty Spoon a resident of Durant, Oklahoma went home to be with her Lord and Savior in Denison, Texas on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the age of 72 years 7 months and 7 days. She was born in Banty, Oklahoma to Cecil and Georgia (Knight) Spoon on Tuesday, June 3, 1941. Betty Spoon married Bill Green in Durant, Oklahoma in 1960.

Betty was a florist for many years with Wilson-Ross and Nichols. She was a member of the Emanuel Baptist Church. Betty also enjoyed spending time with her sons while they played sports and other activities. She had a deep affection and love for children and spent a large portion of her time babysitting.

Ms. Spoon is survived by her sons, Danny Spoon and wife Lesa of Calera, Oklahoma, Terry Green of Durant, Oklahoma, Tommy Green and wife Jennifer of Caddo, Oklahoma and Michael Green and wife Dee of Garland, Texas; brother, Bill Spoon and wife Janet of Durant, Oklahoma; Marietta Ballard of Paris, Texas; brother, Henry Spoon of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Danika Millison and husband Gare of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tara Carr and husband Bobby of Yuba, Oklahoma, Woody Burkhalter and wife Laurn of Calera, Oklahoma, Chance Burkhalter of Wapanucka, Oklahoma, Dymond Stevens of Caddo, Oklahoma, Cortyn Stevens of Durant, Oklahoma, Chris Brown of Garland, Texas and Matthew Green of Garland, Texas; great-grandchildren, Ale and Garrison Millison of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brenden and Breanna Carr of Yuba, Oklahoma, Layn Hall of Paris, Texas.

Ms. Spoon was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Georgia Spoon; husband, Bill Green; brother, C.R. Spoon.

Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 PM Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Bokchito Cemetery Pavillion in Bokchito, Oklahoma with Bro. Randy Lewis officiating.
