Elzie Gaston a resident of Bokchito, Oklahoma passed away in Durant, Oklahoma on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the age of 91 years 6 months and 29 days. He was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on Tuesday, January 3, 1922 to James Alfred and Nellie (Greenwalt) Gaston. Elzie married the love of his life in Denison, Texas on Tuesday, January 22, 1946, they were married for 61 years.

Elzie and Pauline hauled hay and pulled cotton during the summer and fall.. He served his country and community in the United States Army. Elzie enjoyed watching wrestling and westerns on TV.

Mr. Gaston is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins

Mr. Gaston was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nellie Gaston; wife , Pauline Gaston; brother, Juddy Gaston.

Family Hour will be from 3-4:00 PM on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Rock Creek Community Church in Bokchito with Rev. Ross Phillips and Rev. J.D. Batman officiating. Interment will follow at Bokchito Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be John Bundrant, Jr., Eric Thompson, Junior Fults, Jerry Brown, Dennis Roberts, and James Beames. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doug Deel, John Robinson and Bill Hughes.
