Larry Palmer Hammond a resident of Bennington, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at the age of 56 years 6 months and 11 days. He was born in Talihina, Oklahoma to Ray Palmer and Phyllis (Bully) Knight on Wednesday, October 24, 1956.

Larry was a roofer by trade, and a member of the Choctaw Nation. He was a member of the Lutheran Church, enjoyed being outside mowing the yard and watching T.V. But most of all Larry loved being with family and friends.

Mr. Hammond is survived by his son, Michael Hammond of Bennington, Oklahoma; mother, Phyllis Knight of Bennington, Oklahoma; step-children, Brian Hammond of Bokchito, Oklahoma and Lisa Tadlock of Bennington, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Issac and Anthony Perze of Bennington, Oklahoma, Riley Minchey of Durant, Oklahoma and Jonathan and Julian Hammond of Bennington, Oklahoma; a caring, good friend, Cecilia Robinson of Bokchito, Oklahoma; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Mr. Hammond was preceded in death by his father, Ray Hammond; brother, Michael Duane Hammond; son, Louie Hammond.

Family Hour will be from 7-8:00 PM Monday, May 6, 2013 at the Holmes ~ Coffey ~ Murray Funeral Home in Durant. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the Bennington Cemetery with Rev. Olen Williams officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronnie Russey, Dillard Polk, Junior Blaine, Bryan Hammond, Michael Folsom and Kevin Wilson.
